Altea is one of the most sought-after towns on the Costa Blanca: a white old town crowned by the blue-domed church, a seafront promenade with marinas, and residential areas overlooking the bay. It attracts buyers looking for quality of life, culture and the sea all year round. We are a local estate agency with an office in Albir (Alfaz del Pi), about 10 minutes away.
In our listings you will find sea-view villas, apartments close to the beach, village houses and new-build developments.
Old town and centre: narrow streets, restaurants and the promenade, with flats and village houses, and everything within walking distance.
L'Olla: by the sea, south of the centre, with apartments and villas close to the beach and some of the highest prices in the town.
Altea Hills and Mascarat: hillside urbanisations towards Calpe, with sea-view villas and plenty of privacy.
Sierra de Altea: villas on the slopes of the sierra, with plots and views over the bay.
Altea la Vella: the old inland village, quieter and with more space.
In September 2026 the average asking price for resale homes in Altea was 3,504 €/m² (idealista), 4% higher than a year earlier. By area, about 4,530 €/m² in L'Olla, 3,910 €/m² in Mascarat, 3,770 €/m² in Altea Hills, 3,250 €/m² in the town and 3,130 €/m² in Altea la Vella.
What is actually signed at the notary is lower: about 2,972 €/m² on average over the last 12 months (Spanish Notaries' statistics). That is why we value each home with real sales in its area, not just asking prices. We update these figures every quarter.

Private and international schools: in Altea, The A Level College of Altea and Victorious International British School. Very close by, AIS (Altea International School) in l'Alfàs del Pi, Sierra Bernia School and, in La Nucía, Elian's British School.
If you have school-age children, tell us what kind of school you are looking for and we will suggest the areas that suit you best.
We guide you through the whole process: search, viewings, offer, deposit contract (arras) and signing at the notary, with independent lawyers. If you buy from abroad, you will need an NIE and a Spanish bank account, and you can sign through a power of attorney without travelling.

How much does a home in Altea cost? It depends on the area, the views and the condition. As a reference, the average asking price was 3,504 €/m² in September 2026; a sea-view villa in Altea Hills or Mascarat costs considerably more than a flat in the town. Ask us for a valuation of the homes you like.
Which area of Altea suits me? The old town and centre to live on foot, L'Olla to be by the sea, Altea Hills and Mascarat for views and privacy, and Altea la Vella for peace and space.
What are the buying costs? For resale homes, transfer tax (ITP) in the Valencian Community is 9% since 1 June 2026 (11% above 1,000,000 €), with reduced rates in some cases. New builds pay 10% VAT plus 1.4% stamp duty (AJD). Notary, land registry and administration fees are added on top.
Can I buy if I am not resident in Spain? Yes. You need an NIE and, usually, a Spanish bank account. We help you with the paperwork and the lawyers.
Can I rent the property to tourists? It depends on each property. You need a planning compatibility report from the town hall and registration with the Valencian Tourism Register, and in a building or urbanisation the owners' community can limit or ban tourist use. We check this before you make an offer.
Do you also sell new builds in Altea? Yes, we market new-build developments in Altea and across the Costa Blanca.
How long does it take to sell a home? It depends mainly on the price. In Spain, 58% of homes sold in the first quarter of 2026 sold in less than 3 months (idealista). A home that is priced well from the start sells sooner and better.
